“2014 Baby Blue is a blend of six grapes. The objective of the blend is to deliver a wine that is delicious and accessible with velvety tannins, fine aromatics, balance and length. This vintage of Baby Blue is 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc, 8% Syrah and 5% Malbec.”
The addition of Merlot to the Cabernet Sauvignon base brings sweetness and silky tannins, the Cabernet Franc adds complex aromas and Petit Verdot, Malbec and Syrah wound out the palate with warm black fruit. This wine is food friendly and a perfect pair to your 4th of July BBQ!
Blue Rock Vineyards is located in the Alexander Valley located next to world famous Silver Oak Winery. The hillside vineyard, consisting of 46 acres, was re-planted in 1982 to the 5 Bordeaux varietals. In 1993, an additional 3 acres of Beaucastle-clone Syrah were planted in the hills.
