2010 Falernia Sauvignon Blanc Riserva Elqui Valley – Chile

Winery Notes – Handpicked grapes are gently crushed, with 95% of the resulting juice fermented in stainless steel and the balance is aged in French oak barrels for 4 months.  The wine is matured on the lees for 6 months before release.  Enticing scents of ripe figs and wild sage preface a crisp, well-defined flavor of citrus fruit and melon.

2010 Banshee “Mordecai” Red California

Brendan & Xavier’s Notes – Opaque purple color followed by aromas of blackberry liquer, blueberry jam, ripe cherries, cinnamon, clove, smoke and oak.  Rich and mouthcoating yet the silky smooth sweet tannins prevent this powerful wine from becoming too austere.  The long finish is loaded with black fruit, chocolate and wood spice components.  This red will give Orin Swift’s “The Prisoner” a true run for the money at a fraction of the price!

2010 Pellegrini “Olivet Lane” Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

Winery Notes – Intoxicating nose right out of the bottle, showing off bright Bing cherry, hints of fresh strawberry aromas and toast.  Dark chocolate and the faintest of oak.  The enticing medium-bodied core of red fruits are touched with citric peel and creamy oak.  The wine flows like silk over the palate, offering vigour from the refreshing acidity.  Reserved, soft tannins make for easy current drinkability.
