Something Other Than Pinot For Thanksgiving!
2009 Chateau Bel Orme Tronquoy De Lalande $26.99*
Château Bel-Orme Tronquoy de Lalande is a tiny château situated in St-Seurin-de-Cadourne on the Gironde river, just north of Saint-Estèphe. Owned by the Quié family since 1936, the team at the château have worked tirelessly over recent years to tend to improve their vineyards and perfect their winemaking. The gravel soils over a base of clay-limestone are particularly well suited to Merlot vines, the main grape variety planted here. Made using classic vinification methods, the wines have great concentration, ripe fruit and good ageing potential.
James Suckling: Attractive nose with loads of candied violets, raspberries and rose petals. Plum and some licorice. Full and nice texture on the palate with charming fruit and fine tannins. Enjoyable finish with medium length and a tasty licorice note.
